Greek Day 2024

Greek Day 2024

Carlisle Junior High 7th graders first started participating in Greek Day in the mid 2000's for several years.  It was then stopped, and this year is the 2nd year in a row we have brought it back for the kids to enjoy.  The day consists of students rotating through 7 different stations where they learn about Greek related items across the areas of Social Studies, Language Arts, Science, Math, Stem, and 2 art stations.  After that students visit the Greek Agora (marketplace) in the city of Olympia (our gymnasium).  At the market all of the students are given a plate with grapes, olives, pita chips & hummus and a Gyro Sandwich w/ Baklava from Grecian Delight in Middletown.  Following the food all students compete in a variety of Olympic type games for a chance to win a golden Laurel Wreath.  Kids are always excited when Zeus shows up for a visit as well.
