CMS Football Sweep at Waynesville
7th Grade (1-1)
The offense scored late in the first quarter when QB Brice Brown connected with Kolby Millard for a 6yd TD pass. Indians RB Cole Harmeyer followed the TD with a 2pt. conversion run to give the Indians an 8-0 lead. Late in the second quarter, Waynesville responds with an 88 yd. interception to leave the game 8-6 at halftime. Waynesville completed a TD pass to pull in the lead late in the third, after three quarters Waynesville led 14-8. The Indians opening possession in the fourth quarter resulted in a TD run by Cole Harmeyer to tie the game up 14-14. Bryce Gill sacked Waynesville’s QB twice on the next possession that forced Waynesville to punt with less than five minutes in the game. The Indians offense responded with a quick TD run by Kolby Millard that would prove to be the game winner. The Indians go to 1-1 and will host Northridge next week at home.
8th grade (2-0)
The offense scored on the their opening possession when QB Kole Larison connected with Bryce Naylor for a 22yd TD pass to give the Indians the lead. Waynesville was forced to punt on the next possession when RB Talon Borders returned Waynesville’s punt for 48 yd. Td to give the Indians a 16-0 lead. Indian RB Chase Patrick scored a 67yd. TD run to give the Indians a 22-0 lead in the second quarter. The Indians defense responded with a 52 yd. interception for a TD by Bryce Naylor to give the Indians a 30-0 lead at the half. Keane Spradlin scored late in the fourth quarter to close out the game. The Indians defeated Waynesville 54-0 and will host Northridge next week at Carlisle.
