TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES

Digital Curriculum Resources

Students at Carlisle Local Schools use a wide range of learning resources, including digital tools and online educational programs. When an online resource requires a student to have a school-issued email account, it is reviewed to ensure it meets strict data privacy and security standards. Families can view a list of district-approved online educational tools that require student accounts through Carlisle's page on the Student Data Privacy Consortium.

SB 29 - Technology Information

STUDENT DATA PRIVACY

At Carlisle Local Schools, digital tools—both devices and software—are essential for helping students build knowledge, develop skills, and remove barriers to learning. Personal devices, online platforms, and digital assessments have largely replaced traditional textbooks, workbooks, and paper-based tests as the primary ways students access, engage with, and demonstrate their learning.

Our district is committed to ensuring students have appropriate access to technology while promoting responsible digital citizenship and protecting student data. The Student Technology Acceptable Use and Safety Policy (7540.03) outlines clear expectations for student use of district devices, networks, and online communication tools, along with guidelines for safe, respectful, and responsible online research.

Protecting student information is a top priority at Carlisle Local Schools. Student data includes information shared with approved vendors to provide access to district-selected instructional resources. The district safeguards this data both at rest and in transit by following strict internal policies and all requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Before adopting any new technology, Carlisle Local Schools carefully reviews each resource to ensure it meets state and district privacy standards, aligns with board-approved curriculum, and supports best instructional practices. Student data is shared with vendors only when necessary to provide instructional, assessment, or testing-related services.
