During the 2014-2015 school year, Carlisle schools adopted, created, and implemented a 1-8 technology course of study called Learning.com. It is the goal of the Carlisle schools for every child to have one full academic year of experience in a technology course before entering Chamberlain Middle School. Each student in grade 3 will have computer class for three days a week throughout the school year. Students will learn the following skills:

  • Keyboarding (typing)
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Power Point
  • Create and modify databases
  • Searching the internet using key words
  • The difference between .com, .org, .gov, and .edu websites
  • Many other skills will be explored as time permits

Students in grades 1, 2, 4, and 5 will also be working with Learning.com. Their experience and time working with the program will vary depending on the classroom teacher.
